Profile Trending Score and Ranking – How It Works (HIW)
Learn how MediaHubHQ calculates Profile Trending Scores, determines Top 10 rankings, and measures profile momentum across 24-hour, 7-day, and 30-day chart windows.
MediaHubHQ Charts measures recent activity around profiles to help viewers discover creators, businesses, artists, organizations, and other profiles gaining momentum across the platform.
One of the main features powering this experience is the Profile Trending Score. But what does that number mean? Why can a profile be #1 today and move to another position later? And what activity actually contributes to the ranking? Here’s how it works.
What Is a Profile Trending Score?
A Trending Score is a weighted activity score calculated from qualifying interactions with a MediaHubHQ profile during a selected chart period. It is designed to measure recent activity and momentum on MediaHubHQ. It is not a follower count, popularity rating, quality score, endorsement, or permanent measure of a creator or business.
MediaHubHQ currently uses three types of qualifying profile activity:
Profile Views — 1 point: A qualifying visit to a valid MediaHubHQ profile contributes one point.
Profile Searches — 2 points: When qualifying search activity can be associated with a valid MediaHubHQ profile, it contributes two points toward that profile's Trending Score.
Qualifying Link/Content Clicks — 3 points: Qualifying clicks associated with links or catalog content belonging to a valid profile contribute three points.
These signals are weighted differently because they represent different types of interaction with a profile.
For example, suppose a profile receives 100 qualifying profile views, 20 qualifying profile searches, and 15 qualifying clicks during the selected period. The calculation would be:
100 + (20 × 2) + (15 × 3) = 185
The profile would therefore have a Trending Score of 185 for that chart window. The number displayed on MediaHubHQ Charts represents the combined weighted activity recorded for that profile during the selected period.
How Are Profiles Ranked?
After qualifying activity is counted, MediaHubHQ calculates a Trending Score for each eligible profile with recorded activity. Profiles are then ordered from the highest Trending Score to the lowest.
The ten highest-scoring qualifying profiles become the 🔥 Top 10 Trending Profiles, with the highest-scoring profile ranked #1, followed by #2, #3, and so on through #10.
Ranking positions therefore reflect the activity measured during the selected chart period.
Understanding 24h, 7d and 30d Rankings
MediaHubHQ Charts provides three activity windows:
24h — approximately the previous 24 hours
7d — approximately the previous 7 days
30d — approximately the previous 30 days
Changing the selected window can change both a profile's Trending Score and ranking position. A creator receiving a sudden burst of attention today could perform especially well on the 24-hour chart, while another profile receiving consistent activity throughout several weeks could perform more strongly on the 30-day chart.
Neither result contradicts the other. They measure momentum across different periods.
Why Does My Trending Score Change?
Trending Scores are dynamic because the activity behind them is dynamic. New qualifying activity can enter the calculation while older activity eventually falls outside the selected chart window, so your score can increase or decrease over time.
The activity of other profiles also affects your ranking position. Your own Trending Score could increase while your ranking falls if another profile receives even stronger activity during the same period.
A ranking should therefore be understood as a current snapshot of activity, not a permanent title.
Does Every Search Count Toward a Profile's Trending Score?
No. MediaHubHQ can record search activity for its search-related charts, but a search contributes to a specific profile's Trending Score only when the system can associate that qualifying search with a valid MediaHubHQ profile.
MediaHubHQ Trending Scores aren’t designed to declare who is ‘best.’ They’re designed to show who is gaining attention right now.
General search activity should therefore not be interpreted as automatically adding Trending Score points to a profile.
Which Profiles Are Eligible?
The current Charts system evaluates activity associated with valid, non-hidden MediaHubHQ profiles. Activity that cannot be associated with an eligible profile is not simply assigned to a profile for ranking purposes.
This helps keep profile rankings tied to actual profiles available through MediaHubHQ.
What Does the Purple-and-Gold Bar Mean?
Each Trending Profile card includes a visual progress bar that provides a quick comparison between profiles in the current Top 10.
The highest Trending Score in the displayed results establishes the reference point, and the other bars are shown proportionally against that score. The bar is therefore a visual comparison tool; your actual Trending Score is the number displayed on your ranking card.
What Is “Share Official Ranking”?
If your profile appears in the Top 10 Trending Profiles, MediaHubHQ provides the 🏆 Share Official Ranking option.
This allows creators and profile owners to generate a MediaHubHQ ranking card showing their current achievement, including information such as their profile, ranking position, Trending Score, and chart period.
Creators can use the ranking card to celebrate milestones such as “I reached the MediaHubHQ Top 10,” “We're currently ranked #3,” or “We reached #1 on MediaHubHQ.”
Because rankings can change as activity changes, a shared ranking represents the chart result associated with that moment and chart period.
Does a High Trending Score Mean MediaHubHQ Endorses a Profile?
No. A Trending Score represents measured activity within the MediaHubHQ Charts system. It should not be interpreted as a MediaHubHQ endorsement, recommendation, certification, measure of content quality, or judgment about the person or organization represented by the profile.
Trending Score and ranking measure platform activity and attention, not the quality or value of a person, creator, organization, business, or their content.
Can Someone Manipulate the Rankings?
MediaHubHQ Charts is intended to reflect genuine platform activity. Artificially generating views, searches, clicks, or other activity for the purpose of misleading the ranking system goes against the purpose of the feature.
MediaHubHQ may continue developing safeguards, filtering, detection systems, and ranking rules as the platform grows. The Charts methodology may therefore evolve over time to improve accuracy, fairness, and resistance to artificial activity.
How Can Creators Build Genuine Momentum?
There isn't a legitimate shortcut to meaningful discovery. Instead, focus on giving real audiences reasons to interact with your MediaHubHQ presence:
Keep your profile current.
Add useful and relevant links.
Share your MediaHubHQ profile with your audience.
Use a recognizable profile name and image.
Promote legitimate releases, projects, services, articles, videos, appearances, and updates.
Give people a reason to return.
Creators don't need to obsess over every point. The more important goal is building genuine audience interest and engagement.
The Bigger Picture
MediaHubHQ Trending Scores aren't designed to declare who is “best.” They're designed to answer a much more useful question:
Who is gaining attention on MediaHubHQ right now?
Profile views show discovery. Profile searches can show intent. Clicks can show deeper interaction. MediaHubHQ combines those signals into a Trending Score and turns that score into a dynamic ranking viewers can understand at a glance.
Your score tells part of the story. Your ranking shows where that activity currently places you.
And when your profile starts climbing? Share it. Build on it. Keep growing.
